Electro-Optics Alliance (EOA)
The Electro-Optics Alliance (EOA) is a globally competitive, collaborative network of US-based industrial, academic, and government organizations. Collectively, the members of the EOA possess vast expertise, experience, and capabilities in the application, design, and manufacture of electro-optic materials, components, and systems. The EOA provides a critical link between research, development, and the commercialization needed to transfer DoD critical, electro-optics technology successfully to industry and to promote US preeminence in all areas of electro-optics. Today the EOA has over 310 members.
The EOA is chartered to guide and facilitate efforts to:
- Create an electro-optics support infrastructure that promotes innovative strategic relationships among industrial, university, and government research center Alliance members;
- Disseminate R&D results and to expand the electro-optics knowledge and technology bases;
- Establish a national training, education and technology transfer network to support the growth of electro-optics industries;
- Enhance electro-optics technology transfer from research centers and universities to industry for the benefit of the nation and stimulate industry feedback to researchers and educators, and;
- Influence national strategic industrial planning in electro-optics research, development, and commercialization.
Benefits provided by the EOA for its members include:
- Opportunities to compete for MANTECH manufacturing science and technology research and development funds
sponsored by the EOC
- Participation in electro-optic workforce education and development programs
- Team with the EOC and other EOA members on proposals for competitive funding
- Direct technology transfer from other DoD programs
- Direct interactions with other Navy MANTECH centers
- Opportunities to license new technology developed under MANTECH programs
- Secure ManTech funding for
development efforts in DoD critical technologies by working with the EOC
- Receive critical support services (e.g. analytical, testing, administrative, etc.), that may otherwise not be affordable
- EOA members have the ability to tap our expertise, generally free of charge, for consulting related to their technical or operational issues
