EOA Member Job Opportunities:

DCS CorporatioN
http://www.dcscorp.com/careers/default.aspx

DCS Corporation is a leader in electro-optics systems analysis, including design, specification, prototyping, testing, training and human factors analysis. 90% of our EO business is in support of military tactical and missile-based sensors programs (Navy AIM-9X, SLAM-ER, F/A-18, F-14, AH-1, Harrier, Army M1A1/A2, Bradley, TWS and ANVIS are a few examples) but a rising percentage (presently about 10%) represents commercial machine-vision system development revenues. Our staff of 350 degreed engineers and scientists are skilled in software development, electronics, optics and system engineering disciplines.

McNair Software
http://www.mcnairsoftware.com

McNair Software, Inc., located in Southwestern Pennsylvania, was established in 1992 to design, develop and deliver control, instrumentation, and automation solutions to factories and medical manufacturers, and founded on practical, proven software servo and DSP experience. We implemented designs for devices that range from gas detection, human vitals statistics data acquisition, servo motor control, digital signal processing, building automation, pathology and medical laboratory instrument control.

Believing that Windows CE and other embedded Windows products will eventually find a foothold in traditional embedded applications, we are currently pursuing designs in specimen sampling control in laboratory automation and data acquisition, motion control, medical instrumentation, building automation, and data acquisition in metering systems.

Our experience with both embedded and PC apps provide our clients with one source for a complete solution. In addition to designing and developing embedded products, we have experience in designing and implementing PC applications that are used for manufacturing quality testing, networked device control and analysis, and customer technical support. These apps save our client's time and money in production and through their product's life-cycle.

Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate

The Night Vision and Electronic Sensors Directorate (NVESD) provides the United States Army and Department of Defense with technology solutions for night vision and electronic sensors and sensor suites for target acquisition, engagement and defeat of enemy forces day or night, and under all battlefield and weather conditions. NVESD's primary research and development activities are in the areas of thermal imaging, low energy lasers, short wave infrared, image intensification, aided target recognition technology, sensor fusion, force protection, mine detection and neutralization and humanitarian demining.

NVESD is currently hiring electrical, optical, computer and mechanical engineers and physicists with bachelor's or master's degrees to work at its Fort Belvoir, Virginia laboratory facility. NVESD offers excellent career advancement to its entry-level engineers and scientists, hands-on technical assignments and advanced degree training opportunities.

Current U.S. citizenship is required.

Interested applicants should send a resume and a copy of their transcripts to:
Ms. Genie Shires

Power of Design

Power of Design was started to advance the state of the art in a set of cross disciplinary fields centering on Power Electronics.  The current effort in Power Electronics continues to strive to make systems more efficient, smaller, lighter, more generic, and cost less to own and operate.  It is our belief that this can only be accomplished by integrating technologies formerly considered unconnected and disparate, such power electronics and electro-optics.

We offer total system integration of the power, drive, microprocessor control, and thermal solutions.  With each generation of our technology, the voltage isolation and communication requirements continue to find that optically based methods are robust in today's systems and will be the definitive technology in future systems.  Our applications have ranged in size from microminature LED (light emitting diode) drive circuitry, to several kW photovoltaic power inverters, to several hundred kW photovoltaic power systems.  We have also extensive experience in semiconductor laser power supplies, pumped laser power systems, and plasma discharge phenomena, devices and control.

We also enjoy researching and providing advanced sensor and tranducer technology, such as non-contacting opto-fiber current sensors, using the Faraday Effect; and, advanced research in wide bandgap, high temperature semiconductor materials such as SiC and GaN.  We also have experience in wireless power transmission, utilizing both microwaves and laser illumination.  Our favorite tasks are the more demanding technologies, especially if they "can't be done."

Currently, we offer turn-key power electronic industrial systems, including both COTS (commercial off the shelf) and our DC to DC converters, Inverters, Rectifiers, Motor Drives, and optically isolated gate drives, sensor and tranducer subsystems.  We are located about 40 miles northeast of Pittsburgh; for more information about our technology and careers visit our website.
